Search for Sustainable Solutions

We are a polymer chemistry research group led by Dr. Partha Laskar at the Department of Chemistry, School of Science, GITAM University, Vizag, India.

Our research area is to develop sustainable functional polymer materials, aiming to combine synthetic polymer chemistry with bioactive molecules and/or biopolymers towards various biomedical and materials science applications. Via this approach, we are trying to unify chemistry, biology, and technology to understand and develop translational research. Our research is aimed not only at satisfying personal scientific interests but also at addressing societal needs.

Our strategies involved the following-

  • Stimuli-responsive polymers for theranostics

  • Polymer-enhanced synthetic biology

  • Understanding polymeric self-assemblies for translation

  • Bio-inspired materials for shape memory polymers

  • Polymer waste to wealth
